The work... always the work... | A secret diary from Portugal...

We are trying hard. But it has been very difficult to keep up with the demands of this movie making enterprise. School duties (either from students and teachers), holidays, some unforseen training activities right on the days we usually work on the European partnerships, some lazyness, well, we are a little late in our work. Everybody is always trying to do better and no movie is yet finished... Scripts, storyboards, filming, a whole lot of discussion is what we really have by now! But we'll do it in time. Eventually...

On The Run: Actors

Hello, my name is Alain Matthys, in my spare time I go out with my friends, play some video games, watch movies, listen to music and lots of other stuff and I play the role of Jack in our movie.

Hi, my name is Diane Umurerwa-Munyandinda and I’m originally from Rwanda, I love to watch TV, I also like to party with my friends and going crazy of course and I play the part of Jack’s “girlfriend”. I also won a competition so I can go on a t rip to Budapest (with Lander).

Hey, my name is Lander Van Hove and my hobbies are playing the piano, and playing games on my computer, my character is Peter, Jack’s companion. I’m also going to Budapest with Diane.

And I’m Ruben Colman, I like to read books, sitting at my computer (just like all the other guys). I don’t do a lot in the movie, but I play some small roles.

The Creation of “On The Run”

It wasn’t easy to write a script since we had never done something like that. We were lucky because Lander had a certain talent for stuff like this, so it didn’t take as long as the other groups.

Yesterday we started to film our movie, we all got half a day off at school so we could look around for some spots to film our movie. Our group went to Deinze and we started looking at the local Market, after about half an hour we found a spot and we started to film our first scenes. We started filming a scene where Alain (Jack) and Lander (Peter) had to prepare for a robbery, we had to cross the street while loading our guns. But it wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be, we had to look out for driving cars and we also had to look out for some old people who were walking in the streets. It wasn’t easy, but it was fun and we had a great time. When we finally finished filming we got some drinks and we had a lot of fun.
